Abstract

In this paper we look at agrotourism companies that claim one of their attractions to be ecological products from their own farms and/or quality products that come specifically from the geographical area analysed, the region of l’Empordà (Catalonia, Spain). The joining of two traditionally separate production sectors like the primary and tertiary has brought new possibilities to areas slightly inland from the coast. Quality food and traditional cottage craft products become tourist resources that contribute to strengthening the image of the destinations.
