Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss, from the theoretical concepts of institutionalism, if there are isomorphic categories in Human Resources practices, specifically in the entry process of trainees in the steel and mining sector organizations. To enable investigations, interviews with individuals in the areas of Human Resources of three large multinational companies from the sectors mentioned were carried out in-depth, as well as document research and research on sites of third party organizations responsible for the implementation of recruitment and selection. Data analysis showed that, despite the discourse of valuing people for the achievement of business competitiveness, it was observed that the ultimate goal is to increasingly seek equal, isomorphic. The results also pointed to the divergence between the reality of trainee programs and expectations of young people selected.
