Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate the importance of the concept of sustainability in organizations. In a brief history until the present day, it reports the stages of its implementation through great discussions and attempts to demonstrate its importance on the world stage. In the sequence, it questions the practices of environmental management of big companies in the sense of social-educational responsibility towards small enterprises. Finally, it analyzes the importance of adopting sustainable indicators for a good practice of environmental management in small companies. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to a questioning and perhaps to the possibility of creating regional indicators, such as competitive advantage for small businesses
