Abstract

Routes are one of the most wanted tourist practices of Cultural Tourism. This article seeks to analyze and articulate the concepts of tourist route and museum route, presenting forms of planning, organization criteria and managing strategies, so as to present a viable cultural-touristic product. Therefore, we propose museum routes in the region of Aveiro (routes of house museums and of small and medium sized art museums). This study, conducted among the responsibles of these museums, seeks to investigate the perceived benefits and obstacles in the establishment of these routes, presenting and discussing primary and secondary data, validating assumptions and stating conclusions obtained through the technique of content analysis.
