Abstract

The discussions on intellectual property have mobilized various sectors of society and produced a great impact on all levels of the global economy. The influence of thisproduction, acquisition and exploitation of knowledge, is not immune to the universities, which can not evade the discussion on the subject, or its consequences. So the Centers for Transfer of Technology and NIT's have a role in disseminating the importance of innovation to achieve competitive advantage and commercial success and, in particular, the role of patents in innovation management. In this sense, this paper presents a study on the growth of intellectual property at the Federal University of Sergipe after the implementation of Institutional Scholarship Program Initiation Technological Development and Innovation, thus showing that the development policy has generated satisfactory results by identifying the existence instruments to support the development of innovative research tends to foster a steady growth of technological innovation at the university.
