Os Impactos Locais do Turismo

Abstract

This paper explores the local impacts of tourism in the villages of Sortelha and Monsaraz, taking into consideration the resident´s perceptions and the effective repercussions. The data collected shows that the residents have a positive image of tourism, owing to the benefits that tourism brings to the local community, especially in the economic area. But tourism has also negative effects that must be pointed out, especially in the social arena.
