Keywords:
Accessible Tourism, Acessible Destinations, LousãAbstract
The development of tourism destinations more accessible to all citizens, being a recent phenomenon, is assumed increasingly as a strategic concern to ensure its competitiveness. This article discusses the various arguments for the development of Accessible Tourism through a literature review on the theme. Then, it will present the results of a study on the perception of Lousã?s tourism agents against the development of the project Lousã Destination of Accessible Tourism (LDTA). The results presented are integrated in a larger study made for the Municipality of Lousã under its Municipal Accessibility Plan.
The presented data were collected through interviews and analysed with basis on a qualitative methodology. We may conclude that the development of the project LDTA has the commitment of tourism agents in the county; however, it doesn?t prevent that they present some obstacles to its implementation, especially in what concerns the financial constraints.
